Aptus - All-in-One Liquid

A 100% mineral base nutrient for the whole cycle, usable on any medium and in any watering system. Dose 1 to a maximum of 2 ml per litre. This is the liquid, not the organic pellet from the same range.

Your EC reads low, and that is correct

This is where this bottle is most often used wrongly, and it goes wrong in a way your meter does not tell you about.

Most fertilisers contain ballast salts and chlorides alongside usable nutrition. Those contribute nothing to your plant, but they do conduct electricity, so your EC meter counts them. Part of the reading you are used to was therefore never nutrition at all.

All-in-One Liquid contains none of those ballast salts and chlorides. At the recommended dose you therefore get a lower EC reading than you are used to from your old feed, while your plant receives just as much nutrition.

Aptus draw the conclusion that belongs on the bottle: keep your EC 20 to 30% lower than you normally would.

If you do not, here is how it goes wrong. You read a low EC, conclude you are underfeeding, dose up to your familiar figure, and you are then 20 to 30% above the intended dose with nothing on your meter raising an alarm. The number on your meter is not comparable with the number from your previous brand, and that is the only real learning curve with this product.

Insensitive to pH swings

Because of the manufacturing process, All-in-One Liquid is according to Aptus little affected by variation in pH, which keeps it usable across a wide pH range. That saves correcting, and it makes the feed forgiving in a set-up where pH is not held tightly.

One exception you need to know. On coco and in hydro, Aptus advise combining it with their CaMg-Boost. If you combine those two, keep your pH below 6.3, otherwise calcium and magnesium precipitate. Above that you lose exactly what you were trying to add.

On soil and peat, All-in-One Liquid is a complete base nutrient on its own and that combination is not needed.

Dosing

Mix 1 to a maximum of 2 ml per litre of water, all the way through, from the growth phase to maturation. It is a 1 to 1000 concentrate, so it goes a long way.

The liquid is fully soluble and suited to all watering systems. Stir your solution properly when adding, and follow the mixing order Aptus set out in their manual when you combine several products.

Frequently asked questions

My EC stays low at the recommended dose. Am I underfeeding?
