Two products, and why these two

Aptus call this their trial combination, and the choice is not arbitrary: these are the two products that work at the start of a grow and whose effect shows soonest.

Startbooster is a concentrated root and growth stimulator, meant for the first weeks while the plant builds its root system. Regulator works differently: it steers the uptake of the feed you are already giving and raises the dry matter content of the crop.

So the two act at different points. One builds the root system, the other improves what the plant does with the rest of your schedule. That is also why you use them alongside your existing feed and not instead of it: neither supplies NPK.

Enough for 200 to 300 litres

That is the figure that makes this set usable as a trial. Work out how many litres you pour in a cycle and you know at once whether it will see you through: in a small tent with a few plants it covers a whole grow, in a larger set-up part of one.

More important than the litre count is what you get for it: you see what the range does without committing to bottles of 250 ml or more. If it does not suit you, you have used two small bottles rather than a shelf full.

What is not in it

There is no base nutrient in this pack. Regulator and Startbooster are additives: they work alongside a feed that gives the plant its nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.

So you need a base nutrient, from Aptus or another brand. Both bottles are highly concentrated, fully water soluble and leave no residue, so they combine with what you already use and pass through a drip system without trouble.
