A fully plant-based organic grow nutrient from CANNA, certified by Control Union. Dose 20 ml per 10 litres of water, that is 1 to 500, one to three times a week.
The bottle buffers its own pH, so you do not acidify
This is what sets Bio Vega apart, and it saves a step many growers have come to treat as automatic.
Bio Vega contains pH-buffering fruit acids. CANNA therefore state plainly that the mixed nutrient solution does not need to be acidified. No pH-down, no measuring and correcting before you water.
Those fruit acids do more than buffer. They act as natural chelates, meaning they wrap the nutrient elements and keep them available for uptake. That keeps the feed usable across a wider part of the pH scale than a mineral nutrient, where a drifting pH drops elements out of solution.
Note where this works differently from other organic ranges. With organic feed on a living substrate the buffering comes from the soil life; here it is in the bottle itself. That makes Bio Vega less dependent on which substrate you use, and it is why CANNA give no pH instruction with it.
Betaine nitrogen and 17 amino acids
The nitrogen in Bio Vega is largely present as betaine, an organic form which according to CANNA is released as the plant needs it rather than becoming available all at once.
It also contains 17 detectable amino acids. Those are not a nitrogen source in themselves but building blocks the plant would otherwise have to make, which costs it energy. The bioactive substances, CANNA say, drive root development and the formation of strong growth shoots.
It is 100% plant based. CANNA make a point of that for a reason worth repeating: there is no animal residue in it, so it cannot carry an animal pathogen either. Raw materials include plant extracts and soft rock phosphate.
Dosing
Shake well before use. Dissolve roughly 20 ml per 10 litres of water, that is 1 to 500. Feed that one to three times a week, depending on your pot size and the size of your plant.
Watch the changeover to flowering: Bio Flores from the same range runs at 40 ml per 10 litres, double this bottle. Dose from habit at the switch and you give half of what the flowering feed asks for.
Do not mix more than you will use in a day: use the diluted solution within 24 hours. Feed preferably by hand, over the medium. If you use drip irrigation, flush the lines after every application, because organic feed blocks drippers.
Organic cultivation
Bio Vega is certified by Control Union Certifications for use in organic growing, and is OMRI listed under the American NOP programme. If you grow under your own certification, check it against the current list of your own control body.
Store the bottle closed, dark and frost free. The packaging is polyethylene, free of PVC and cadmium.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to adjust the pH?
No. CANNA state that the mixed solution does not need acidifying, because the fruit acids in the product buffer it.
How much do I give at a time?
Roughly 20 ml per 10 litres, one to three times a week. How often depends on your pot size and plant size, not on a fixed week.
Can I keep the same dose when I move to Bio Flores?
No, and that is the trap. Bio Flores runs at 40 ml per 10 litres, exactly double.
Can it go through my drip system?
It can, but CANNA prefer hand watering and instruct you to flush the lines after every application to prevent clogging.
Is it genuinely certified organic?
Yes, by Control Union Certifications, and it is OMRI listed under the NOP programme. If you work under certification yourself, check your own body's list.
