Canna - Coco A+B

Coco A+B is CANNA's base feed for coco, and the only line in their range without a separate growth and bloom feed. That is not a simplification for beginners but a consequence of how coco behaves.

Why there is no Vega and no Flores

Terra has a Vega and a Flores. So does Hydro, so does Aqua, so does COGr. Coco does not, and CANNA explain why themselves.

Coco has a buffering capacity of its own and a sponge-like structure. As a result the nutrients are stored in the substrate rather than only in the water passing through it. And that, per CANNA, means something important: the plant regulates the quantity and the timing of uptake itself.

Set that beside an inert medium and the difference is plain. In rockwool or clay pebbles your schedule decides what the plant gets and when, because nothing is held in reserve. In coco there is a reserve, and the plant draws what it needs at the time.

A line working that way has less use for two bottles handing over every few weeks. One formula covering the whole run suits a substrate that handles the timing itself.

What else makes coco different

CANNA name another property working in the same direction: coco substrate is more open than soil. There is more room for rooting and the roots get more oxygen, which benefits growth and flowering.

It also saves you a step at the start. CANNA Coco does not need pre-watering before you start growing; the substrate ships buffered. That is different with COGr, their second coco route, where the compressed boards have to be soaked with Buffer Agent before a plant goes anywhere near them.

The two bottles, and the rule that comes with them

Coco A and Coco B are two halves of one composition. CANNA print the rule on every page of their A+B lines, and they put it more sharply than most manufacturers: never mix A and B concentrate neat, because insoluble compounds form that the plant cannot take up.

That is the reason behind the order, not just the procedure. Add A to your water, stir it through well, and only then add B. Whatever precipitates in concentrated form does not come back.

In use

Use Coco A+B throughout the growth and flowering period, in equal amounts of A and B. It is developed for coco substrates and CANNA run their own Coco Professional Plus alongside it.

Store frost-free, closed and dark. UV light breaks down the chelates in the feed, and those keep the trace elements available; a bottle standing in the light for months is no longer the bottle you bought.
