An organic system cleaner from CANNA based on anionic detergents. Keeps salts moving so they never precipitate, rather than dissolving deposits after the fact.
Preventing and dissolving are two different jobs
A blocked dripper rarely has a single cause, but the distinction that matters is whether the deposit is already there or not.
D-Block works through anionic detergents. Those are surfactants: molecules with a water-loving and a water-repelling end, which attach to particles in the water and stop them sticking to each other or to the pipe wall. As long as it travels with every feed, the mineral salts stay in motion and never get the chance to form crystals.
That makes it emphatically a preventive product. If you already have a line full of hard lime scale, this is not what will shift it. It is what stops you reaching that state, fed with every irrigation, all cycle long.
Two instructions from CANNA that make the difference
There are two things in CANNA's own directions you will not find anywhere else, and both are practical.
The first: keep the lines and drippers internally wet between irrigations. A line that dries out in between leaves its dissolved salt behind on the wall as a solid, which is precisely the crystal you were trying to prevent. A system that stays damp lets the product keep working.
The second: before each new cycle, fill the system with clean water and D-Block, pH adjusted to 5.2, and leave it. That way you start a cycle with a protected line rather than with the remains of the last one. It is the moment this product does the most, and it costs you nothing beyond a tank of clean water.
Dosing
Mix 1 ml per 10 litres of feed water, which is 10 ml per 100 litres, and feed it at every irrigation. The product is non-toxic and harmless to the plant, so continuous use through the whole cycle is the intention rather than the exception.
Store the bottle cool, dark and frost-free. On skin or eye contact rinse thoroughly with water, and do not let it enter the drain undiluted.

Frequently asked questions
Will this dissolve existing lime scale?
That is not what it is made for. It keeps salts moving so they do not precipitate. If the deposit is already there you need something that binds metal ions and breaks crystals up.
Why do my lines have to stay wet?
A line that dries out in between leaves its dissolved salt behind on the wall as a solid. Keeping it damp prevents exactly that.
What is the pH 5.2 step before a new cycle?
CANNA's advice to fill the system with clean water and D-Block at pH 5.2 before a new grow, so you start with a protected line.
Does it affect my EC?
At this dose, barely. It is not a fertiliser and it is meant to travel unnoticed with your normal feed.
Can I use it alongside an enzyme product?
Yes. It is a detergent, not an oxidiser, so it does not break enzymes down. A hydrogen peroxide cleaner does.
