Canna - Hydro Flores A+B

Hydro Flores is the bloom feed from the CANNA Hydro line, for run-to-waste systems on inert media. You switch to it as the plant enters flower, and from that point measuring matters more than it did during growth.

Three measuring points, not two

Most growers measure their feed water and their run-off. CANNA add a third that gets skipped more often: also measure the EC of the substrate itself.

The three tell you different things. Your feed water says what you put in. Your run-off says what came out. But what stays in between, in the rockwool or among the clay pebbles around the roots, is what the plant actually has to work with, and it can differ from both.

In bloom your feed EC rises while the plant takes up less per litre than you put in. The difference stays behind in the substrate. Measure only your input and you see a tidy number while the root zone slowly gets saltier, and the plant only reports it once it has been going on for a while.

On an inert medium that shows up faster than in potting soil, because there is no buffer absorbing it. That is the flip side of being able to grow precisely.

What run-to-waste is worth in bloom

If your substrate reads too high, the fix in run-to-waste is simple: water more generously, let more drain through, and rinse the excess out. The water passes the plant once and goes to the drain anyway, so there is nothing to repair in a reservoir that keeps circulating.

That is the same property that makes this system forgiving during growth, and in bloom it is worth more, because there is more in your water than there was at the start of the crop.

In use

Always add component A to your water first, stir it through well, and only then add component B. Never directly into each other; in concentrated form the salts react and part of it precipitates.

Use Hydro Flores throughout the flowering period, following Hydro Vega. Take your time mixing the reservoir.

If you run a recirculating system rather than run-to-waste, CANNA Aqua Flores is the matching feed. The substrates are the same; the difference is what happens to your water once it has passed the roots.
