The mineral half of a choice CANNA set out themselves

CANNA make two starter kits for soil growing and place them opposite each other on their own site: this one with mineral nutrition, and the BIOCANNA Starter Kit with plant-based.

The difference is not quality but way of working. Mineral nutrition is directly available: you feed and the plant takes it up, with no intermediate step. That makes it fast and steerable. In the organic range the soil life has to convert the feed first, which is slower but asks less of you.

Choose this kit if you want to correct on what you see, and the organic one if you would rather let a medium do the work.

The only one of the three with an enzyme and a PK booster

At six products this is CANNA's fullest starter kit, and two of those do not appear in the organic kits at all.

Cannazym clears dead plant material from the soil. That prevents rot and mould and gives the roots room and oxygen. In an organic substrate the soil life does that job itself; in a mineral set-up it does not, which is why it is in this box.

PK 13/14 is the phosphate and potassium dose for the peak weeks of flowering. A 50 ml bottle looks small and that is right: this product only goes in for a few weeks, at the end.

Why there is four times as much bloom nutrient

There is 250 ml of Terra Vega against a full litre of Terra Flores. That ratio is no mistake and you meet it at more than one brand.

The flowering phase lasts longer than the growth phase and the dose rises through it, so simply far more bloom nutrient goes through. The bottle of Terra Vega empties first, and it is the first thing you top up if you continue with this range.

CANNA TERRA is made for growing in soil, in pots and in open ground, indoors and outdoors, and works best according to CANNA with their own potting composts. Soil holds nutrients, and that buffering capacity is exactly why it is a sensible medium to start on.

Use the included grow schedule: it tells you week by week which of the six products goes in at what dose, so you do not have to build a schedule yourself.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference from the BIOCANNA Starter Kit?
This one works with mineral nutrition that is directly available and therefore responds quickly. The BIOCANNA version is plant-based and lets the soil life convert the feed.

Why is there four times as much Flores as Vega?
The flowering phase lasts longer and the dose rises through it. Terra Vega runs out first.

What is Cannazym for?
It clears dead plant material from the soil and so prevents rot and mould. In a mineral set-up there is no soil life doing that by itself.

Is 50 ml of PK 13/14 not very little?
No, that product only goes in during the peak weeks of flowering, so for a few weeks.

Do I have to build my own schedule?
No, a grow schedule is included giving the weekly product and dose.
