This is the trade you make when you choose a mineral nutrient over an organic one, and both halves belong on the same page.

The gain is speed. Mineral nutrients do not have to be converted by soil life first, as the Alga range from this same brand does. You feed, and the plant takes it up. There is no two-week conversion period to build into your schedule, which makes Terra Grow the logical choice for fast-growing crops and for grows where you want to correct on what you see.

The price is that you hold the wheel yourself. Plagron say it plainly: with Terra you must regulate the pH and EC values. In an organic grow the soil life buffers that for you; here it does not.

Terra Grow does adjust your nutrient solution to a degree by itself, but tap water is not the same anywhere, so you do not start from the same point as somebody else. Plagron recommend a pH between 5.5 and 6.5. The right EC depends on your crop and the phase it is in.

In short: anyone who has a meter and uses it gets out of this range what is in it. Anyone who would rather not measure is better served by the organic range from the same brand.

What it is good at

Terra Grow works across all types of soil mixes and can be combined with liquid fertilisers and additives, so it does not lock you into one schedule.

Two less well known uses. It works as a foliar feed, which is possible because it is a mineral fertiliser: uptake does not run through soil life, so the route over the leaf works. And it is a good choice for keeping mother plants green and vital over the long run, where you are dealing in months rather than in one cycle.

Note the difference from the organic range by the same maker: that one runs at 4 ml per litre, 1 to 250. Switch range and the ratio switches with it.

Do I need to measure pH and EC with Terra Grow?
Yes. Plagron are clear about that. Unlike their organic range there is no soil life buffering it for you. Keep a pH between 5.5 and 6.5.

What is the difference from Alga Grow?
Speed against convenience. Terra is immediately available but you steer pH and EC yourself. Alga needs two weeks of conversion but the soil life handles the rest.

Can I use it as a foliar feed?
Yes, you can, because it is a mineral fertiliser.

Is it suitable for mother plants?
Yes, it is very good for that: it keeps them green and vital over longer periods.
