This is the repeat dose, not the hydroponic edition

Micromix comes as two powders, Soil and Drip, and the trade usually presents them as the same product for two ways of watering: by hand or through a system. That is not how Aptus mean it.

In their own schedule, Soil sits at the start: you mix it through your substrate or drop a gram into the planting hole, before you plant. Drip comes afterwards. Aptus name it explicitly as the repeat treatment, around three weeks after the Soil application, and repeatable again after that. You pour it into the tank, stir until everything has dissolved and give your plants that solution.

So the difference is when, not whether you own a drip system. Soil life introduced at planting declines over a cycle as the substrate depletes and salts build up. A second and third application keeps that population up during the period the plant benefits from it most.

What the soil life does in the root zone

The bacteria colonise the space around the roots and in doing so occupy the ground where soil pathogens would otherwise get a hold. Beyond that, the enzymes they produce break accumulated nutrient salts and complex organic compounds down into forms the plant can actually take up. The strains sit on a carrier that protects and feeds them, so they are active straight after dissolving rather than having to recover first.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to choose between Soil and Drip?
Not necessarily. Aptus place Soil at planting and Drip as the repeat afterwards. If you only have Drip, you can start with it too.

Will it block my drippers?
It is made to dissolve completely. Stir until you can see no powder before you switch the pump on.

When in the cycle?
Mainly in growth and the first weeks of flowering, or when starting up a fresh substrate.

Can I put it in the tank together with my feed?
Yes, that is the intended use. Do not leave the solution standing for days.
