A plant takes up through the leaf faster than through the root, sometimes within a day. That makes foliar feed a correction tool: a deficiency you can see right now, or a plant taking up poorly after transplanting or stress. It is not meant as, and will not serve as, a complete feed.
Why it works faster, and why that is limited
A spray goes straight into the leaf and skips the whole route through root and sap flow. Against that, you can only deliver a small amount: what fits on a leaf is a fraction of what a plant takes up in a day. So a foliar spray bridges the days until your root feed lands again, rather than replacing it. If the cause sits in the pH or in the root zone, fix it there with pH Control and a root stimulator.
Concentrate or ready to use
Hy-pro Spraymix comes both ways: as a concentrate you mix yourself, and ready to use in a bottle you can spray straight away. For a one-off correction ready to use is the least work; if you spray regularly, concentrate is more practical because you set the strength. Application decides whether it works
Spray with the lamp off. Droplets on a leaf act as lenses under a bright lamp and scorch the tissue, and a warm leaf dries the solution off before anything is absorbed. Wet the underside of the leaf too, because that is where most of the stomata are and where most of it goes in. Stop spraying once the flowers start filling: moisture standing in a dense flower is precisely the condition mould waits for, and that then becomes a matter for Diseases & Pests.
Frequently asked questions
Can I dilute my normal feed and spray it?
Better not. Root feed is formulated for uptake through the root and can leave salts behind that damage the leaf. A product built for foliar use is balanced for it.
How often can I spray?
As often as the correction needs and not as a fixed habit, because every spray leaves a residue. If you see no improvement within a few days, the cause is not in the leaf.
Where did Cannacure go?
It sits under Diseases & Pests, because it works on the leaf surface itself rather than as a feed. If you want a spray against an infestation, look there.
