AutoPot sits in two places here, and that is exactly the order you buy in: first the system, then the reservoir it drinks from. Both work without a pump and without power, because the water runs from the tank to the pots on gravity alone. That makes the number of pots and the height of your tank matter more than with any other system in this shop.

The systems, and what each line is

Under Growing Systems there are four families. The 1Pot and the 1Pot XL give every plant its own pot on its own tray, from 1 to 24 pots, in standard pots or in a Smartpot version. The Easy2Grow pairs two pots to a tray and runs from 2 to 24 pots. The Auto Tray Systems, Auto3, Auto5, Auto8 and Auto9, put a fixed number of pots in one shared tray rather than in separate ones. And there are extension sets for 1Pot, 1Pot XL and Easy2Grow, so you can add later without buying a second system.

The reservoir, and the trap everyone falls into

Under Water and Irrigation are the reservoirs: the rigid 47 litre tank with its own stand, and the collapsible FlexiTanks at 25, 50, 100, 225, 400 and 750 litres. Read carefully here, because it differs per system. Some sets say explicitly that the tank is included. Others say optional with FlexiTank, and then the tank is a separate purchase. So read the system's title to the end before checking out, or you will have a complete system in your tent with nothing to fill it from.

How big should that tank be

That follows from the pot count and from how long you want to leave it, not from the system's name. Four pots left over a weekend ask something very different from twenty-four pots in full bloom. That is why the FlexiTank range runs so far: the tank is the dial you turn when you want to top up more or less often. Do stand it higher than the pots, because with no pump the height does the work.

Frequently asked questions

Can I extend a 1Pot system later?
Yes, that is what the extension sets are for, and they exist separately for 1Pot, 1Pot XL and Easy2Grow. Pick the one matching your line, because the pot size and the tray differ.

What is the difference between 1Pot and 1Pot XL?
The pot size, and therefore the tray under it. They are not interchangeable, so check the product page for the volume you are getting before ordering an extension.

Do I need a FlexiTank or can I use another container?
Another container works, as long as it stands higher than the pots and you can fit the outlet. The FlexiTanks fold, which helps if you store one between cycles.
