Ø 150 mm is the safest standard choice for a 120x120 and the entry point for a 150x150. The fan choice here is wide and runs from axial to centrifugal to mixed-flow, but what really sets this size apart is that you can buy a complete system from one manufacturer rather than assembling parts from several.
The size where AC Infinity is complete
On no other diameter is one brand this fully present. Fan and filter line up
There are carbon filters in this size, so you need no reducer between fan and filter. Allow for the filter costing airflow when you choose: a generous fan turned down runs quieter and more efficiently than the tightest one flat out, and that gap widens once a silencer goes on as well.
What this size does not have
Two things are missing at Ø150 and it is better to know up front. There is no Odor connect for dosing scent into the duct, and no duct heater. Both start at Ø125 and continue at Ø160. If you need either, that is a reason to put your whole run on one of those sizes.

Building new, Ø150 gives you more fans and a complete AC Infinity system. Ø160 has more filters and more ducting. Pick one and hold it, because reducing between the two costs pressure.
Is this enough for a 150x150?
As an entry point yes, especially with a generous fan turned down. With a filter and a silencer on it and a room that runs warm, Ø200 gives you more headroom.
Kit or separate parts?
A kit if you are starting from nothing and want everything to fit for certain. Separate parts if you already own something or want a specific fan.
