Above 1500 cubic metres per hour you are no longer at tent scale but at whole-room scale, or several tents sharing one extraction. The choice here is narrow, and that is no accident: at this airflow most growers are already running into the limits of their electrical circuit, their noise budget and their building.
What is in this band
This band is covered by the Can-Fan Max Fan Pro 250 at 1660 cubic metres per hour and the AC Infinity CLOUDLINE Pro S10 does 2040 with a wired ten-speed controller. On filters, only the AC Infinity XL for 200 mm reaches this band, carrying extra carbon in the same housing.
Noise is the deciding problem here
At this airflow a fan is no longer background noise. The Max Fan Pro explicitly must not be given an external speed controller, so turning it down is not an option there and the noise has to be solved with a silencer or with acoustic ducting. The CLOUDLINE does regulate itself, and ten speeds on a large fan is the quietest way to move a lot of air.
Filtering at this airflow
The more air you push per hour through the same quantity of carbon, the shorter your filter lasts. A carbon filter that lasted a year on a smaller build is spent within a season here. So plan on replacing more often, or on a refillable kit where you renew only the carbon.
Or two systems instead of one
Before buying here, it is worth doing the sum the other way. Two extraction systems from the 700 to 1000 band come to the same total, can be controlled separately, are easier to hang and are quieter each. One large system is cheaper in filters and silencers; two smaller ones are more flexible and do not both fail at once.
Frequently asked questions
Why is there so little in this band?
Because nothing above Ø250 mm is stocked, which makes this airflow the top of the range. Beyond it you are into industrial equipment that does not belong here.
Can I turn a fan like this down?
That depends on the model and it matters more here than in any other band. One of the two has its own ten-speed controller; the other explicitly must not take an external one.
Which filter suits this?
The largest filters connect at Ø250 mm. Look at the heaviest versions under carbon filters and expect a shorter service life than you are used to.
