This band holds the widest choice of fans you can turn down, and that is no accident. From this airflow up, a fan at full power becomes audible in the house, so manufacturers build in speeds, controllers and EC motors here. That changes how you read this list.

A two-speed fan is filed at its maximum

Products are placed in one band on one figure, and that figure is the highest they reach. So a fan running from 400 to 800 appears in this band and not the one below, even though on its low setting it belongs there. If you are filtering on airflow, always check the range on the product page rather than only the band it sits in.

Large and gentle beats small and flat out

Fans of equal output are not equally loud. A generous fan at half power is quieter, draws less and lasts longer than a tight one working hard to reach the same figure. That makes this band the right choice for someone whose calculation lands around 600: you buy the headroom and then do not use it.

What is in this band

From Can-Fan, the RK range in its upper sizes and the pre-damped Iso-Max 200 at 870 cubic metres per hour. From Vents, the VK and VKS in Ø200 and Ø250. From G-Tools, the two-speed and temperature-controlled 160 mm versions, some supplied with a filter. On filters, the heavier Can-Lite and Can-Filters Inline, a Prima Klima and a Rhino.
