Choosing a carbon filter is usually about throughput and weight, but there is a third constraint that only shows once the tent is up: height. A filter hanging upright at the top takes centimetres that come off your plant. Prima Klima is the brand with an answer to that.

The filters

The ordinary carbon filters run from 160 to 800 m³ per hour. Alongside them is a flat 360 m³ version that builds shorter at the same throughput, meant for tents where the top is already crowded. The industry filters in 360 and 460 m³ are the heavier build for continuous use.

Height is quiet profit

In a 180 cm tent a good deal is already taken by fixture, hanging gear and pot. What a filter saves in length you keep as growing room, and that is exactly the room you are short of at the end of flowering. It is one of the few choices in a setup you cannot easily reverse later.

The EC fan alongside

Prima Klima also make the PK125 EC-TC, a 125 mm temperature-controlled fan that adjusts its speed to the measured temperature, separately or as a set with a PK K1604 filter. Other brands in this category offer that combination too, so compare on what you need rather than on the name.
