From Ø 200 mm up you are in the territory of one large tent or a small grow room. Something changes here in how you choose: at the smaller sizes it is mostly about whether the fan shifts enough air, and from this size on it is just as much about how long your filter lasts.

A carbon filter works because air stays in contact with the carbon long enough. Push more air per hour through the same quantity of carbon and the service life drops, and at this flow rate you notice it. That is why this size has XL versions holding more carbon in the same housing. They cost more each and usually less per running hour. More on that under carbon filters.

Fan and filter in the same size

At Ø200 you need no reducer: both fans and filters come in this diameter, so the whole chain lines up. Fans include the AC Infinity CLOUDLINE Pro S8 and the T8 with app and WiFi, the Vents TT Pro 200 as a mixed-flow and the VK and VKS as centrifugals, plus the pre-damped Can-Fan Iso-Max 200 at 870 cubic metres per hour.

The AC Infinity air filtration kits supply fan, filter, ducting and mounting together in this size, with the PRO version replacing the sliding controller with the Controller AI+ and its climate probe. That is the simplest route if you are starting from nothing and want the connections to line up for certain.

What else comes in this size

Frequently asked questions

Is Ø200 too big for one tent?
For a 150x150 certainly not, especially with a filter and a silencer on it. A generous size turned down runs quieter and more efficiently than a tight size at full power.

Standard filter or XL?
XL as soon as you run long hours, because more carbon means more service life at the same airflow. If you run briefly or rarely, you will not recover the extra cost.

Can I put a Ø200 fan on a Ø160 system?
With a reducer, yes, but you give up pressure doing it. If you are already on Ø160, first check whether a fan there delivers enough.
