Square plant tray or Flextray

The square plant trays in black are the rigid option: they hold their shape and stay flat, even under weight. The Flextrays flex, which matters most when getting them in and out. A rigid 120 cm tray will not go round a corner or through a narrow door; a flexible one will.

Choose on what happens next

If the setup stays where it is, the rigid tray is the nicer one: it does not deform and water runs predictably to one side. If the tray has to come out between cycles to be cleaned or stored, the Flextray wins on practicality. That is the whole trade-off.

Choosing a size

Work from your tent's internal dimension rather than the external one, because the tray has to sit inside the frame. When in doubt go a size down: a tray that almost fits sits skewed, and then the water runs exactly where you were trying to stop it.

Will a 120 tray fit a 120 tent?
Measure the internal dimension. Tents are named on external size and the frame takes up room.

Can it go on a grow table?
Yes. Check that the table's fall and the tray's rim do not work against each other.

Do they cope with nutrient water?
Rinse them after each cycle; dried salt rings are mainly a cleaning matter.
