Climate & Ventilation — Ø 100 mm

Ø 100 mm is the smallest size stocked here and suits tents up to around 80x80. The practical advantage is that the whole chain exists in this diameter: fans, carbon filters, ducting, flanges, shutters and clamps. So you can assemble a complete extraction system in one go without a single reducer, and at the smallest size that is worth more than at any other.

Why reducing hurts most here

Every reducer costs pressure, and the smaller your system, the larger that loss looms in proportion. A fan at this size has little in reserve, so one bend too many or an avoidable step in diameter shows up immediately. Keep the whole run at Ø100 and use parts in the same size.

Fans, from plain to fully controlled

The choice here is wide. AC Infinity supplies the CLOUDLINE Pro S4 with a wired controller and the T4 with app and WiFi, Can-Fan the RK 100 L and the RK 100 LS at 270 cubic metres per hour, and Vents the VK as a centrifugal, the VKO as an axial and the Quietline built around silence at the cost of airflow. Garden Highpro has the straightforward Proline for builds that need no control.

Filtering without compromise

There are carbon filters in this size, from AC Infinity including the refillable kit where you replace only the carbon, and from Can-Filters. The AC Infinity air filtration kits supply fan, filter, ducting and mounting together in Ø100, which is the simplest route for a first build.

Do not buy the smallest and run it flat out

This is the most common mistake at this size. A carbon filter, a couple of bends and a metre of ducting together take a serious bite out of your stated airflow, and at Ø100 there is little margin to absorb it. If in doubt take the stronger version and turn it down: that runs quieter, draws less, and leaves something in hand for when the filter loads up.

Frequently asked questions

Is Ø100 enough for an 80x80?
Usually yes, provided you do not take the tightest fan. With a filter and a silencer on it and the tent in a warm room, look at Ø125.

Can I put a Ø125 filter on a Ø100 fan?
With a reducer you can, but this is the size where you can least spare that pressure. There are filters in Ø100, so it is rarely necessary.

Why is there no odour control in this size?
The in-duct Odor connect starts at Ø125. For a small build the carbon filter does the work, and for the room itself there are sprays under odour control.
